Germany's The Left party is actively supporting a large-scale rally for Gaza planned for September 27 in Berlin, party chair Janis Ehling said on Monday.
Ehling told journalists in the German capital that the executive committee had decided over the weekend that the party will mobilize for the event.
"We call on our members to take part in the rally in front of the Reichstag on September 27," Ehling said, referring to the building that houses Germany's lower house of parliament, or Bundestag, in Berlin.
The demonstration is being organized by Amnesty International and aid organization Medico International, among others, under the slogan "All Eyes on Gaza - Stop the Genocide."
Berlin rap group KIZ is one of several musical acts set to perform at the event.
Ehling called for more pressure on Israel from the international community and a suspension of the European Union's Association Agreement with Israel, which provides for close political and economic cooperation.
