Game # 149, Athletics vs Reds Game Thread

Powered by three solo homers and lock-down pitching when they needed it, the Athletics defeated the Cincinnati Reds 3-0 last night to take the first game of the series. Hoping to continue to play the role of playoff spoiler, game two is tonight at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento.

Taking the mound for the A’s is Luis Severino. The 31-year-old right hander is 6-11 with a 4.67 ERA in his 2025 season. In his last seven games, Seve is 4-1 with a 2.87 ERA. He’ll go up against 26-year-old righty Hunter Greene for the Reds. He is 6-4 with a 2.59 ERA in sixteen 2025 starts.
