Final Injury Report For New York Knicks-Boston Celtics Game 5

The New York Knicks are on the road on Wednesday night as they take on the Boston Celtics in Game 5 of their second-round series.

New York enters Wednesday’s game just a victory away from advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals after they were able to take a commanding 3-1 series lead with their victory in Game 4 on Monday at home.

Of course, the Knicks were able to steal both games in Boston to start the series and they will look to do the same on Wednesday, especially with Boston being without one of their star players.

Even better for New York is that they will enter Wednesday’s game with a clean injury report as they have nobody listed on it.

With the Knicks having their core healthy, they will look to clinch the series in Game 5 on the road and eliminate the defending champions.

On the other side, the Celtics do not have a clean injury report as they have ruled out superstar forward Jayson Tatum after he suffered a torn right Achilles in Game 4 on Monday.

This is a devastating blow for Boston, especially with them down 3-1 in the series as their chances to repeat as NBA champions seem to be nearing a disappointing end.

Of course, Tatum’s injury will also cause him to miss most, or possibly all of next season, which could force the Celtics to make some major roster decisions in the offseason.

Jayson Tatum

Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum (0) shoots the ball against the New York Knicks in the second half during game two of the second round for the 2025 NBA Playoffs at TD Garden.

While Tatum will be sidelined for Game 5 on Wednesday, Boston is expected to have Sam Hauser return to the rotation as they have listed him as probable due to an ankle injury.

Hauser suffered a sprained ankle in Game 1 that has sidelined him for the last three games but he is expected to return on Wednesday.

Fans can catch Wednesday’s Game 5 matchup between the Knicks and Celtics at 7:00 p.m. EST on TNT.
