Exciting Caitlin Clark Announcement Turns Heads on Sunday

It’s been an eventful second WNBA season for Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark.

While she's quickly established herself as one of the league’s top players, she's also had to battle through injuries. After missing five games earlier in the season due to a quad strain, Clark has now missed the last two games with a groin injury.

Though the groin issue isn’t believed to be serious, Fever head coach Stephanie White is taking a cautious approach with the team’s superstar point guard—who currently leads all players in voting for the upcoming WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis.

Still, despite being sidelined, Clark made major headlines on Sunday thanks to an exciting announcement from Nike. The brand dropped a new commercial highlighting Clark and the launch of her Kobe 5 Protro PE—her exclusive player edition shoe that officially hits the market Monday.

“When @caitlinclark22 laces her new Kobe 5 Protro PE she steps into a new dimension,” Nike wrote. “Noise fades, focus hits, and all that’s left is her drive to dominate. Available 6.30 on SNKRS in select regions.”

While there’s no official release date yet, Caitlin Clark also has her own signature shoe in the works with Nike—a highly anticipated drop that’s expected to be a major milestone once it’s finalized and ready to hit the market.

Clark’s impact on women’s basketball has been second to none. She continues to be the biggest draw in the WNBA and one of the most talked-about athletes in all of sports, building on the momentum from her historic collegiate career at Iowa.
