Daniele Adani believes it was not Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu who had the final say in the club’s transfer dealings this summer.
Speaking on Domenica Sportiva via FCInter1908, Adani accused the Nerazzurri of signing players without consulting the manager.
Inter Milan took a more proactive approach this summer compared to recent transfer windows.
Indeed, the 20-time Italian champions completed five incoming deals.
The arrivals of Manuel Akanji, Petar Sucic, Luis Henrique, Andy Diouf, and Ange-Yoan Bonny cost the club nearly €100 million.
Furthermore, Inter got rid of numerous fringe stars in order to maintain financial stability.
Meanwhile, they also underwent a managerial change, with Simone Inzaghi leaving the helm after four years.
Brought in to engineer a new era, Cristian Chivu has struggled in his early days at San Siro.
Indeed, Inter have got their new Serie A season off to a dreadful start.
They already languish six points adrift of the top in their worst top-flight start in 14 years.
However, Adani doesn’t see the 44-year-old Romanian as the main culprit.

“Several months have passed since Munich,” Adani said. “That defeat will remain in the minds and hearts of all Inter fans for a lifetime.
“The guys go out on the pitch, and when they play against opponents like Juventus, you don’t think about May 31.
“I would stay focused on the present, which speaks of lapses in concentration and a sluggish pace.
“Chivu arrived when several signings had already been made.
“On Saturday, Inter left €85 million worth of new signings on the bench, with some not even entering the game.
“He will need to show skill at renewing the motivation of the older players through work and dialogue because champions can weigh you down.
“They need to feel your level as a coach. New work on the field goes better if the signings were chosen together with you, not if you inherit players you didn’t select.
“Rotations are easier when you’ve made the choices yourself. Let’s give Chivu time.
“He didn’t make the bench signings! Let’s focus on that; otherwise, we shoot at him and blame him for everything.”
