Doctor Who has dropped a new clip from its 2024 Christmas special, 'Joy to the World'.
Derry Girls and Bridgerton's Nicola Coughlan joins Ncuti Gatwa's Time Lord for this festive episode, penned by former showrunner Steven Moffat.
In the clip, which debuted as part of last night's (November 15) Children in Need telethon, we learn that weapons manufacturer and recurring enemies the Villengard are trying to grow a star on Earth in order to have an infinite energy source.

The Doctor explains that the plan could end up wiping out all life on Earth, as it would take about 65 million years to do it properly. As it turns out, The Doctor and his newest companion have seemingly gone back 65 million years.
Oh, and they're seconds away from sliding into the jaws of a hungry dinosaur.

The clip features our heroes mentioning a place called the Time Hotel, and Moffat mentioned earlier this week that the holiday venue can indeed take its guests through time.
"Imagine that a hotel chain got hold of the idea of time travel," he teased. "What's the first thing a hotel would do if they had time travel? They'd realise they have an opportunity to sell all the unsold nights in their old hotels [throughout] history."
He also explained that he penned the special after current showrunner Russell T Davies admitted he didn't have the time to write it himself, and since Moffat loves Christmas and especially a Doctor Who Christmas, he jumped at the chance.
Doctor Who airs on BBC One in the UK and Disney+ elsewhere. Classic episodes of Doctor Who are available on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
