The Celtics will be shorthanded for the third straight game on Tuesday night, but they will have Jaylen Brown available for their Game 5 matchup against the Magic. Boston upgraded the All-Star wing from questionable to available about an hour before tip. Brown continues to deal with a right knee posterior impingement issue that has kept him on the injury report for the past three games. Jrue Holiday (strained hamstring) remains out for the third straight game.

Brown has been hampered by a bone bruise in his knee since March that has forced him to miss a handful of games to end the season. He received a painkilling injection earlier this month and was removed from the injury report for the first two games of the playoffs. Despite not playing at 100 percent during the series, Brown has put up strong overall numbers for Boston averaging 23 points and eight rebounds while averaging 36.8 minutes per game. He posted a double-double in Game 4 to help give Boston a 3-1 series lead and an opportunity for a closeout win in TD Garden in Game 5.

“This was a big win on the road in a tough physical environment with a team that has been playing well and the team has been eager to take us out,” Brown said Sunday. “So tonight was a big win. We get our rest and we rally the troops and get back to her back in Boston on our own floor.”

Jayson Tatum also continues to play through a bone bruise in his right wrist but he remained off the injury report for the second straight game.

“It’s whatever,” Tatum said of the injury. “I know what I’m dealing with. My team knows how serious is, but it’s that time of year. We’re all sacrificing our bodies and doing through things. It’s the playoffs. I doubt anybody feels 100%, but you step on that floor, do what you can, give it your all. It’s all about trying to figure out how to win.”

The Celtics tip off Game 5 against the Magic at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday night in a game televised on NBATV and NBC Sports Boston.
