Chicago Bulls center Nikola Vucevic came into the NBA offseason as a hot topic of trade rumors around the league, and now as we reach the halfway point of the offseason, his name is being brought back up in talks.
But the Bulls' Swiss big man isn't here for all the talk, or "nonsense," as he calls it.
“The Bulls’ GM [Marc Eversley] had contacted me after all the rumors about me, confirmed that nothing was true and that everything we had said to each other after the season was still relevant. I knew it but it’s always nice when your GM contacts you to tell you. There are always rumors. Most of them are false. It’s a bit of nonsense." Vucevic said to Kurt Helin of NBC Sports.
Vucevic Named in Mock Trade with Miami Heat
Sadly, for Vucevic, nonsense is what makes the world go round in sports, as the trade rumors never sleep and speculation is always at an all-time high.
According to Dave Holcomb on Fantasy Sports On SI, a trade that would really work for Vucevic is one with the Miami Heat, which would land Chicago a first-round pick.
The trade would land Vucevic on a championship-contending team after spending the first two years of his career with the Philadelphia 76ers, then a decade with the Orlando Magic, and now the past four with the Bulls.
For such an asset of a player, averaging 18 points and 10 rebounds in each of his past two seasons, a return to Florida may be just what the two-time All-Star needs to finally add a championship to his resume.
