The Milwaukee Bucks suffered a massive blow on Sunday as they battled the Indiana Pacers in Game 4 of their NBA playoffs first-round series.
The Bucks were in dire need of a win in this one after securing a victory in Game 3 at home on Friday to cut down Indiana's series deficit to 2-1.
Milwaukee, however, will need to battle the Pacers in Game 4 without Damian Lillard after the nine-time All-Star suffered a concerning injury early in the contest.
Lillard was slow to get up after falling to the floor in the first quarter after what appeared to be a foot injury. He had to be helped by the team's coaching staff and his teammates as he made his way to the locker room. Lillard had trouble putting weight on the foot as well.
It did not take long before the Bucks made an announcement about Lillard's status for the game. The team revealed via social media that the 34-year-old point guard will not be able to return to the contest after being diagnosed with a lower left leg injury.
"Damian Lillard (left lower leg injury) will not return to tonight's game," the Bucks posted on X.
Unfortunately, this appears to be a serious injury for Lillard. NBA insider Chris Haynes has reported that the seven-time All-NBA guard is feared to have suffered a torn left Achilles.
This is a horrific turn of events for the Bucks, who could now potentially lose Lillard for the remainder of the playoffs. He will be undergoing tests in the coming hours, and depending on the extent of the injury, it's very much possible that he will miss a significant part of the 2025-26 season as well.

It is worth noting that Lillard just recently returned from a blood clot issue in his calf. This forced the 6-foot-2 point guard to miss the last 14 games of the regular season and Game 1 of the playoffs against the Pacers.
With Lillard out, Giannis Antetokounmpo will be forced to carry much of the load for the Bucks in Sunday's game and, potentially, beyond.
