Earlier this summer, Barcelona seriously considered signing Diaz to strengthen their attack on the left. His talent and versatility made him a perfect fit for the style Barça want to play under Hansi Flick.

But Liverpool’s high asking price and the opportunity to sign Nico changed everything. Now, Barcelona’s focus is fully on closing the Nico deal.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich, who missed out on Nico, have shifted their attention to Diaz. They are now favourites to sign the Colombian if he leaves Liverpool.
