Arsenal are set to wear their blue away kit for the first time in a men’s competitive fixture, debuting it against Athletic Club on Tuesday with a unique alteration.

Four competitive games into the Arsenal men’s 2025/26 campaign, the Gunners have worn their new home kit twice, and their new white third kit twice, but they’re yet to debut the blue away shirt.
That will change on Tuesday, with Arsenal Shirt Collection reporting that the team will be wearing the blue away shirt on Tuesday night away to Athletic Club.
But the full kit won’t be quite the same as we saw in pre-season, as the Gunners will be wearing an alternate set of shorts and socks.

As shown above, Arsenal’s usual blue away kit involves the blue shirt, blue shorts, and blue socks, with red and silver highlights.
But due to UEFA’s stricter kit clash rules, the Gunners will have to wear silver shorts and silver socks against Athletic Club.
Athletic Club wear a red and white home kit, which immediately ruled out Arsenal wearing their own red home kit or white third kit. But the Gunners’ blue away kit usually has dark shorts that would have clashed with Athletic Club’s own black shorts.
That brings us to the solution: A blue shirt to avoid a clash with the red and white, and silver shorts and socks to avoid a clash with Athletic Club’s black shorts.

The Arsenal goalkeeper will be wearing an all-green kit for the match. Whether that’s David Raya or a Gunners debut for Kepa Arrizabalaga, we’ll find out on Tuesday night.
