Arkansas High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams – Sept. 22

The high school football season continued in Arkansas last week, as many of the top programs in the Natural State were in action. Plenty of interesting results followed. Bentonville beat a highly-ranked opponent from Missouri, Benton pitched a shutout and Shiloh Christian blasted a team from Oklahoma.

Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Arkansas high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Sept. 22.

1. Bryant (3-0)

Bryant remains atop the Arkansas high school football rankings after its bye week. The Hornets will open up conference play against Little Rock Central on Friday. The Massey Ratings give Bryant a 100 percent chance to log its 18th-straight victory in the series against the Tigers.

2. Bentonville (3-0)

The Tigers leaned on a balanced offensive attack to top Missouri power Lee’s Summit North on Friday, 45-28. Senior receiver Conrad Schmitz caught three touchdown passes in the win. Bentonville is set to open up conference play Friday on the road at No. 20 Har-Ber.

3. Greenwood (3-0)

The Bulldogs were idle last week following their 43-42 win over No. 20 Har-Ber. Greenwood will begin conference play Friday at home against No. 8 Shiloh Christian in what should be one of the best Arkansas high school football games of the weekend.

4. Conway (2-1)

The Wampus Cats were off last week after their 2-1 start to the season. Conway will kick off conference play Friday at home against winless Little Rock Southwest.

5. Rogers (3-0)

The Mountaineers were also off this week as they prepared to enter conference play. The Rogers offense probably needed the rest after putting up 80 points on Sheridan the week before. The team will visit Northside on Friday for their conference opener.

6. Benton (2-1)

The Panthers blanked No. 11 Parkview Magnet 31-0 on Friday. Quarterback Drew Davis threw four touchdowns in the victory. Benton will open up conference play on the road Friday against a Jonesboro team ranked No. 23 in this week’s Arkansas high school football rankings.

7. Fayetteville (2-1)

The Bulldogs suffered a disappointing 42-29 loss to Texas High on Friday. Fayetteville rallied from an early 21-0 deficit to pull within one score entering the fourth quarter, but the team just wasn’t able to close the gap. The Bulldogs will need to bounce back quickly as they’ll begin conference play on the road Friday against No. 10 Bentonville West.

8. Shiloh Christian (3-1)

The Saints are 3-1 on the season after blasting Oklahoma’s Bethany 72-0 on Friday. Quarterback Cole Creighton lit it up against the Bronchos, completing 12 of 14 passes for 296 yards and three touchdowns. Shiloh Christian will look to snap a five-game losing streak to No. 3 Greenwood this week.

9. Joe T. Robinson (3-0)

The Senators were off last week following a 3-0 start to the Arkansas high school football season. Joe T. Robinson will open up conference play on the road Friday at Watson Chapel.

10. Bentonville West (2-1)

The Wolverines are coming off of a bye week. Bentonville West will look to snap its four-game losing streak to No. 7 Fayetteville this Friday in the conference opener for both teams.
