If you're experiencing some cost-cutting confusion this week, rest assured you're not alone. On one hand, you've got your early July 4 sales, and on the other, preliminary Amazon Prime Day deals. How do you tell the two apart, and, most importantly, which ones are best? As a shopping writer who digs for discounts all day, every day, I'll tell you: They're all the same.

Obviously, the discounts themselves differ between retailers and whatnot, but the specific sale label isn't what's important. Amazon Prime Day falls a bit earlier this year (July 8-11, to be precise), so it's right on July 4's heels. That means we're sort of getting two savings events in one, and my advice? Focus on scoring the best deals you can, not how they're categorized.

With that in mind, my job is to weed through the "meh" (and downright bad) sales and present you with the diamonds in the rough. To that end, here are 10 gems I'm particularly impressed by today, from an Instant Pot for 50% off to a summery Old Navy dress marked down to just $30 that rakes in the compliments for one shopping editor.

The best meals are the ones you can make by tossing all of the ingredients into one cooking vessel, then setting and forgetting. That's probably why these appliances are such fan favorites — and this model, with its nine functions in one, is so versatile, it just might become the most-used thing in your kitchen.

Make rice, sear chicken ... or heck, even whip up some yogurt. You'll be able to cook enough food to feed six people, so I'll be awaiting my dinner party invitation. Oh, and this 50% discount brings the price down to its lowest of 2025 — for comparison, a 3-quart version is only $10 less.

When you think of under-eye skin care that's actually effective, are you also envisioning large dollar signs? According to Senior Beauty Editor Jennifer Romolini, it doesn't cost a lot to give that area a glow-up. "If you're looking for a low-cost retinol treatment to help with dark pigmentation, this is for you," she says. "RoC is the premier name in over-the-counter retinol, and its eye cream is highly rated ... It's excellent for improving the appearance of both fine lines and dark circles, and it's dermatologist recommended too. I only wish it contained more antioxidant, nourishing ingredients. But for the price, it honestly cannot be beat."

Speaking of price, this is about as low as I've seen it in months.

This all-season comforter is right up Goldilocks' alley: oh-so-soft and cozy enough for the colder months, but not too stuffy during the summer. The classic white version is more than 50% off, bringing it down to just $24. In fact, it's close to as low as I've seen it in years. Plus, it has tens of thousands of five-star ratings to back it up (in addition to mine — I love it!), so if you're even thinking about adding it to your cart, now would be a smart time.

Gordon Ramsay, an ambassador of the brand, uses these pots and pans, so that's saying something! They're made of aluminum sandwiched between stainless steel for expert heat conduction and distribution, and their nonstick interiors make them a breeze to clean. Plus, the signature hexagonal etching helps encourage browning. With this starter set, you'll get the 12-inch, 10-inch and 8-inch Hybrid pans, plus lids for each — and for 30% off.

Director of Commerce Initiatives Jeanine Edwards says that out of all the summer dresses in her closet, this pretty number gets her "the most compliments." She adds, "I purchased it last summer, and I kid you not, I wore it every single week from June to August. ... Something magical happens when you actually put this midi dress on your body. First, the way it frames the shoulders and collarbone is perfection. It's not overly revealing in any way, but there's something very alluring about how the top of the dress accentuates the female physique that makes it a winner. ... Then, there's the length. I am pretty much the captain of 'team long dress.' I find midis and maxis way more flattering and versatile than shorter styles."

It looks more expensive than its $30 price tag would imply, so grab it while you can save 40%.

If the thought of making ice cream at home is intimidating to you, these have your name on them. Really, they couldn't be easier to use — just make sure your mugs are frozen for at least 24 hours, then mix up your ice cream base (there's a recipe book included). Once your mugs are sufficiently chilled (you want them to be really cold), you'll add your base, turn 'em on and they'll start churning away. You can also add mix-ins of your choosing via the pour chutes while they're running, and in about 20 minutes, you'll have ice cream. Simple, right?

This duo rarely dips lower than this, so scoop 'em up for their lowest price in over a year.

The best travel outfits are the ones that feel like pajamas but make us look put together, and this casual-chic tee and pants duo fits the bill. The pants have a drawstring waist that you can adjust to your comfort level, and the wide-leg design and cropped length help keep things airy on muggy days. With this markdown, you can grab select colors for just $25 — an all-time low.

Wood-fired cooking is what provides the smoky flavor so many of us crave from grilled foods, and if that's the route you're looking to take, you can't go wrong with Home & Garden Writer Kristin Granero's pick for "best pellet grill."

"There's a lot of buzz surrounding Traeger pellet grills, and for good reason: These dynamos can tackle a lot of cooking functions — from smoking and grilling to baking and braising," she explains, adding that its 18-pound pellet hopper capacity means "you don’t need to worry about running out of fuel mid-progress."

Something else you don't need to worry about? The quality of this deal, seeing as it drops the price to its lowest in years. In fact, this grill has only dipped lower once, and that was last summer.
