Psst: Next weekend marks the unofficial start of summer, which means spring cleaning season is winding down. Better start checking off more items on your to-do list so you're not stuck inside doing chores while everyone else is at the beach. If one of those yet-to-be-crossed-off-tasks is cleaning your floors, have I got some news for you: Amazon's Memorial Day sale has officially kicked off, and the mega-retailer's quietly slashed the prices on stick vacuums from some of the top brands on the market. I'm talking Bissell, Shark, Black & Decker — even Dyson.
As a five-foot-tall weakling, I'm particularly partial to these pint-sized picker-uppers (okay, I'll stop with the alliteration). They often weigh far less than their upright counterparts, making them handy for quick cleanups all around the house. Plus, they usually include a built-in hand vacuum to use on furniture and stairs, so you're really getting two appliances in one.
With that in mind, I've rounded up the best stick-vac deals of the bunch, starting at just $90. Each model on this list includes an aforementioned handvac, and the heaviest weighs just eight pounds. Ready to save some money (and your back)? Let's roll.
Don't want your new vac to suck a ton of cash from your wallet? This stick's a mere $90, which, let me tell you, is a stellar price for a name-brand model. Its 40 minutes of runtime per charge is sufficient for cleaning small- to medium-sized homes; plus, it has LED lights to help you see in darker spaces, and its cyclonic filtration system traps airborne particles. This is just about as low as it's been on sale for since last spring.
"Overall, very pleased with this unit, since I am 80 and have arthritis, and it only takes about 30 to 45 minutes to do my entire small house," wrote an impressed buyer. "Since I live in a sand pit, this is a wonderful unit. Gets dog and cat hair very well also."
While I'd typically urge you to steer clear of sharks, this is one I'd recommend getting up close and personal with. Reviewers say it's a pro at sucking up their furry friends' hair from surfaces of all types, thanks to its bristled brushroll — but even if you don't count an animal among your housemates, you'll appreciate its lightweight design, strong suction and, at least for the time being, its price tag. It's an impressive 42% off; in fact, it's only dipped lower once, and that was back in October.
"This thing blows the off-brand cordless vac we had previously out of the water," confessed a convert. "The sheer amount of cat hair this thing got out of our rugs (that our old vac unknowingly wasn’t getting) could make another cat. My husband and I did like three consecutive cleanings, and every time, just when we thought there couldn’t possibly be more, there was more."
This powerful 7-pounder tackles pet hair, crumbs and more with ease, according to Home & Garden Writer Kristin Granero, who named it the best cordless stick vacuum after testing a slew of models. "It hit the sweet spot in our testing for a sleek vacuum that offers solid performance, along with some snazzy features, at a competitive price," she says.
She went on to praise its narrow brush head that "swivels like a dream" and described it as "lightweight" and "incredibly quiet — enough that it probably wouldn't wake a sleeping baby." You'll be able to see dirt hiding in dark spaces, thanks to its headlights, and it even has a dust sensor that'll automatically adjust the power depending on how much extra cleaning oomph is required. As for suction? Granero called it "superb," saying it was a champ at "mowing down faux fur, sand, kitty litter, rice and cereal with ease."
Oh, and as far as price is concerned? This is as low as it's been all year.

Been dyin' to try a Dyson? Not all deals from this splurge-tastic brand get my attention, but this $120 markdown sure did. This highly rated model is down to its best price in months and features a Max cleaning mode to spot-treat areas that need more attention. Got pets? The included hair-screw tool sucks up fur without getting tangled.
Granero also tested this vac, saying it's "among Dyson's more compact and budget-conscious Dyson models ... The vacuum maneuvers effortlessly over and around rugs and hardwood floors, and the hair screw tool worked miracles when it came to tight corners and detailing pet-loved couch interiors. ... We suggest it for smaller spaces with hardwood floors or shallow carpets and quicker jobs."

How stylish is this sleek, 7.5-pound stick vac? I think it looks far more high-end than its $149 price tag — which happens to be close to an all-time low — would imply. LED headlights and 180° steering make for easier maneuvering, and you'll get up to 48 minutes of use per charge.
"This vacuum saves my sanity when it comes to dog hair," praised a pet parent. "This one has a headlight so you can see what you are doing. Our six-month-old lab started shedding his puppy coat, and I had been sweeping several times a day. When my new vacuum arrived, I did the whole main floor, which is all hardwood and several area rugs. So easy to use and empty. More than enough power as well."
More than 10,000 Amazon shoppers have purchased this No. 1 bestseller in the past month alone, so it's clearly doing something right. With a motor that's up to 60% more powerful than similar models, it'll make quick work of lifting dust bunnies and bunny fur. Speaking of which: Its fur brush helps dislodge stubborn tufts from the depths of your carpets. It's only dipped lower than its current price once this year, FYI.
"Okay, I thought this would be like the Dirt Devil or those other quickie vacuums for small jobs," admitted an avid admirer. "Well, it's not! This Bissell is so much better, as it cleans my throw rugs, wood floors and even low-pile carpet with ease! I bought [it] mainly to use every day for the kitty litter spread by my 'thoughtless' cat and the hair she carelessly drops everywhere. It is a keeper."
Another looker for a steal: This is one vacuum I wouldn't mind having on display if my storage closet was short on space. But, arguably, this model's coolest feature is an easy-cut nozzle, which frees tangled hair and dust with the push of a button (i.e. you won't have to pull it from the brushroll manually). Also cool: The price, which rarely dips lower than this.
"This is the best purchase we've made in our efforts to lighten up," shared a satisfied shopper. "As we get older, [we] have seen the need to go with lighter machinery. This vacuum is amazing. It's easy to maneuver around furniture and super easy to clean and place back on the charger. I've used it for several months and plan to buy another one for my mom and home office."
Last, but certainly not least, let's give it up for the lightest vac on this list! Clocking in at a mere — wait for it — 5.3 pounds, this little lint-lifter will do just as much for your back as it will for your floors. Oh, and if you're tired of hearing the crash your vacuum makes every time you lean it against the counter, this small wonder has an "Easy Rest Nook" to keep it propped up. It's also down to one of its best prices all year.
"I love this vacuum!" raved a fan. "I can hold my baby in one arm and this vacuum in the other because it is so lightweight. We have hardwood/tile throughout our home, so I can’t speak for the suction power on carpet, but it does great on the couple of rugs we have. It has no trouble picking up our dog's hair, and he has very fine fur."
