“This summer can be different” – Fabrizio Romano provides update on future of Chelsea target

There’s a high chance reported Chelsea target Alejandro Garnacho could leave Manchester United this summer according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues face a critical window with the club looking to sign a striker, centre back and right footed attacker to bolster Enzo Maresca’s ranks.

Chelsea could look to fund their business by selling as many as seven or eight players with a number of squad members surplus to requirements.

Whilst a striker is the main priority there’s set to be movement in the wide areas with Maresca said to want five wingers in his squad.

Noni Madueke is reportedly attracting interest whilst Chelsea are yet to make a final decision on Jadon Sancho’s future.

Chelsea were linked with a move for Garnacho in January, but opted against making a bid for the Argentine.

It’s believed the Blues are still in touch with the representatives of Garnacho, and Romano has now provided an update on his future.

“There is more and more concrete chance to see Garnacho leaving Manchester United this summer,” he told his YouTube channel.

“Last summer Chelsea and Napoli were interested but nothing happened. This summer can be different.”

Garnacho has scored 11 goals and registered ten assists in 58 appearances in all competitions this campaign, and it’s been reported they’ve set an asking price of £60m for the 20-year-old.

Gittens and Williams Chelsea targets

The Blues also have other targets in the wides areas with Nico Williams and Jamie Gittens said to feature high on the list.

Chelsea are said to have made contact over a move for Williams, but it’s been reported the Spain international would want £400,000 per week if he makes the move to the Premier League.

Gittens is likely to be more attainable and Chelsea are said to be in pole position to land the England under-21 international.

The Blues are reportedly prepared to offer Gittens a contract which would double his current salary, and he’s believed to be keen on a move to the Premier League.
