Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany believes Enzo Maresca has done a “remarkable” job since taking over at Chelsea.
Chelsea face Bayern in the Champions League on Wednesday night in a huge game, which will feature top class players, and two young managers going up against each other.
The Blues are back in the Champions League for the first time in two years, whilst Bayern will be amongst the favourites for the competition.
Vincent Kompany praises Enzo Maresca
Both Kompany and Maresca are now in their second seasons at their respective jobs, and both were perhaps surprise appointments.
However, Maresca won the Club World Cup and Conference League, whilst Kompany guided Bayern to the Bundesliga title after they lost out to Bayer Leverkusen two seasons ago.

It’s sure to be a fascinating tactical battle, and Kompany was full of praise for Maresca in the build-up to the game.
“I think Enzo’s done a terrific job,” he told TNT Sports.
“You always have to look back at what a team was like when the manager started and the question marks around the squad and the playing group.
“Of course, you invest because you expect results but at the end, it is what it is, it’s a young team. It’s a lot of talented players that had to come together and for them to be able to do it, it’s been a remarkable job.”
Chelsea to come up against Nicolas Jackson
One of the fascinating stories surrounding the game is Chelsea coming up against Nicolas Jackson so soon after he left the club.

Jackson joined Bayern Munich on loan on deadline day after a protracted transfer saga, and is eligible to play against the Blues.
Chelsea of course know all about Jackson, and will hope to keep him quiet, but football has a way of writing stories, and it wouldn’t come as a surprise if he did score on Wednesday night.
