Glasner sounds alarm as Crystal Palace face critical transfer window
Urgency around Palace’s recruitment
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has delivered a stark warning to the club’s hierarchy, urging decisive action in the transfer market to protect the team from slipping into another relegation fight. With the departure of Eberechi Eze edging closer, Glasner’s call carries even greater weight.
The England international is expected to finalise a £67.5m move to Arsenal in the coming days, leaving Palace without one of their most influential figures. Losing Eze represents a seismic shift in the squad’s attacking strength, and Glasner made clear that replacements are not optional, but essential.

Glasner’s candid message
Speaking in his pre-match press conference before Sunday’s clash with Nottingham Forest, Glasner did not shy away from the scale of the challenge.
He asked reporters: “Before we arrived, I think if I’d asked you who are the most important players in Crystal Palace’s attack, what would have been your answer? Eze and Olise and or is it, suppose I can’t, and then, you know, you need to replace them too, and even that at that time.”
Glasner continued by reminding everyone that even with those two star players, Palace had not enjoyed comfort in recent seasons: “So I wouldn’t sit here if this club had been very successful before, so two years in a row, playing against relegation, even with these two top stars.”
Warning signs for Palace’s future
The Austrian coach’s concern centres on the club’s trajectory in comparison to its rivals. “So and if we don’t do the right things now, then I’m worrying that it can go very quickly into the wrong direction in the Premier League, and if I see what’s happening around us, even more.”
His words highlight the increasing competitiveness of the bottom half of the Premier League table, where even marginal decline can prove costly. Palace’s lack of depth, compounded by the potential loss of their two brightest talents, leaves them vulnerable unless urgent reinforcements are secured.
A pivotal summer ahead
Crystal Palace’s board now faces a defining moment. Glasner has made clear that ambition in the transfer market is non-negotiable. If Palace fail to strengthen adequately, the risk of drifting back into survival mode looms large. For Glasner, the message is simple: act decisively, or the consequences could be severe.
